Where has all the money gone
Here's something that caught my attention and had me wondering. I use Ebay alot both for buying and selling & it struck me hard when I bought an item from Canada and they wanted the money in Canadian dollars instead of U.S. dollars. So, I checked the exchange rate and found the U.S. dollar is worth less! So I took it upon myself to do some research and here is what I came up with. On 1 January 2000 (when Clinton was still President), the U.S. dollar was worth 1.45 Canadian dollars (CD). As of today the U.S. dollar is worth .98 CD or a decrease in value of almost 50%!!! Also, the USD was worth .99 Euros and .61 British Pounds (BP). Today it is "worth" .68 Euros and .51BP! That is a 31% drop in value against the Euro and 16% drop against the BP. No wonder we have a huge deficit in this country now. Our money is becoming worthless. It has even dropped 13.4% against the Chinese Yuan (from 8.2/USD in 2000 to 7.1/USD today). That means China's money is becoming more valuable than ours! No wonder China is buying up all our stocks and land. They will own us before we know it.

Mitt sets up Obama
Mitt Romney announced his evacuation from the Republican candidacy which will disappoint alot of Conservatives who have said that McCain is more liberal than Hillary and would vote for Hillary. What if Hillary loses to Obama (which is highly likely)?
Here is my scenario: Obama takes the Democratic nomination & names Hillary for vice-president which will give the Dems the super ticket against McCain & whoever (I think it will be either Romney or Huckabee) and some Republicans will crossover and put Obama in the White House (which may have to be renamed or repainted).
Remember--you read it here first!

Obama gets the racist vote
Well, Super Tuesday is over and we aren't any closer to knowing who is goin to win the Democratic nomination than we were on Monday. We do McCain-and-abel has increased his lead, but Huck-l-berry hound made a strong showing while Mitt-ens sort of folded. Hillary-artillery won the big states, but Obama-nation won more overall states. Looks like Michigan & Florida will need to play a role in the outcome.
I did watch some CNN news yesterday at noon and the were interviewing a professor at a college in NY that happened to be a black man. He has voted for Hillary for the senate every time she ran and said, "She is a good senator and has been good for New York." So the interviewer said, "So you voted for Hillary in the primary..." but he said no that he voted for Obama. When pressed for why he voted Obama, he hemmed & hawed and avoided answering the question, because the answer he implied was "because Obaama is black." Voting for or against someone based on the color of their skin is racist and should have nothing to do with who is going to run the country. If people are voting for Obama because he is black (and that appears to be what is happening all around the country), then that is wrong. A decision should be based on their qualifications only. Obama has not even served a full term in the Senate and has avoided voting on the big issues for over a year. That is not the leader we need at this time of recession.

Party of the parties
Super Tuesday? I think New Orleans has the right idea-Fat Tuesday. Lets follow their lead-eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we shall die. The fat cats get fatter while the peons get drunk. Sounds like the party for us--maybe a third party such as the Fat Tuesday party would work. A hurricane in every hand and beads on every neck. That's more than we get now from our government. Parties in the streets, dancing, jazz, carefree days. The politicians have their party why can't we. aftyer all, it's just a party.

Super Bowl So-So ads
Well the Super Bowl is over and we did not get to see history made with another undefeated team-poor pretty boy Tom Brady. At least the game was close and good, because the commercials stunk. Was it just me or was this the worst super ad year that I can remember. I always look forward to ads to see what great concepts are out there, but this year was terrible. Most of them I went "Huh?". Others were jsut plain stupid. A few were cute. I did enjoy the Caraville-Frist commercial especially in this time of campaigning, and the Budweiser commercial with Hank the horse was cute. Otherwise, the advertisers did not get their $2 million 30 seconds worth! I wish had the money to spend like that-and that was just for the time slot, not to mention how much they paid the firms to develop and produce the commercials. That's a whole lot of Bud, Pepsi, & Coke that people have to buy to make up for it (I would like to see a stat on how much beer is consumed on Super Bowl Sunday). Did you notice that their were no presidential campaign ads? Even the politicians aren't willing to spend that much money--now that's saying something!
